Lakehurst helps pilots perfect assault landing
JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. - Sailors assigned to the 305th Operations Support Squadron watch a C-17 Globemaster III land at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Oct. 8, 2020. The Lakehurst assault landing zone is 3,500 ft. long and 90 ft. wide. It is used to replicate the experience of an assault landing and assesses pilots’ precise flying, planning and general knowledge of the strategic maneuver. (U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Azaria E.
