The 87th Civil Engineer Group is responsible for acquisition, construction, maintenance and repairs of over 3,900+ base facilities, utilities, and infrastructure on 42,000 acres with a replacement value of $14 billion, while also providing Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst with emergency fire and explosive ordnance disposal response capabilities, base maintenance, repair, and development, engineering design, environmental management, dormitory management, combat readiness, and full-spectrum rapid recovery from attack or natural disaster in peace and war.
