The Pit Stop of War: FARP keeps Marines, aircraft in the fight during CALFEX
A U.S. Marine Corps Reserve gunnery crew member from the 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines Regiment, fires a .50-caliber machine gun during a combined arms live-fire exercise at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., March 21, 2026. The CALFEX, led by 2nd Bn., 25th Marines Regt., included a forward arming and refueling point established by Marine Wing Support Squadron 472, and integrated forces from Marine Forces Reserve units based in New Jersey and operating out of JB MDL to conduct aviation and ground operations throughout the exercise, linking logistics, fires and maneuver elements in a continuous training scenario.
