F-4 Phantom II – A legend restored to glory

A newly restored F-4 Phantom II is hooked to a transport vehicle in Hangar 1 to be moved to its new location as a static display in Navy Lakehurst Air Park at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., July 1, 2026. The restoration, which took a team of volunteers 13 months to complete, included sheet metal and canopy repair, sanding the aircraft from the top down, and application of paint, lettering, insignia and clear coating for long-lasting preservation.
