JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. -- What is MFAP- a quality of life initiative to get feedback from our JBMDL
community. Quality of life issues are submitted and reviewed and researched
at an annual conference and then out briefed to installation leadership.
They are then provided to their primary proponents for action. Conferences
such as this are held on military installations world-wide and have been
instrumental in making significant quality of life improvements.
What is an MFAP Issue?
Any issue that affects the readiness and well-being of our Service Members,
and/or their families. Some sample topics include: Benefits and
Entitlements, Education, Medical, Dental, Finance, Childcare, Employment,
Relocation and Family Readiness. Issues may be installation specific or
"larger military" issues.
How can you be involved?
1- Submit a quality of life issue
2-Volunteer to be a workgroup participant at the conference
MFAP Success Stories: Transfer of Education Benefits for spouse and/or
children; Extended Tricare for college students up to age 25; SGLI
Increases;
Thrift Savings Plan; Stabilization for families of high school seniors;
Creation of the School Liaison Specialists; Professional weight allowance
for spouses during PCS
Installation improvements such as better lighting and safety measures on
Tuskegee Airman crosswalks, EFM One Stop Inclusion events and elopement
trainings for SFS, outdoor pool summer hours and more
Who can Submit an Issue? Any military Service Member, Retiree, Family
Member, Civilian, volunteer. YOU !
