Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright visited here to share upcoming changes to enlisted professional military education, interact with leaders from around the joint base and attend an Air Force senior NCO induction ceremony, July 21.

In an announcement on July 18, Wright and his staff announced a return to 100 percent resident EPME, allowing all active duty, Guard and reserve Airmen an opportunity to attend Airmen Leadership School, the NCO and senior NCO academies prior to promotion.

“We’re in the process of improving the content for the resident EPME courses,” said Wright. “I’ve always believed that leaders are learners, and we try to build a core of leaders in our Air Force. If you want to be a great leader, it’s incumbent that you continue to learn and grow yourself.”

Wright visited different organizations around the installation to learn more about the mission at Joint Base MDL and the impact the Airmen here have on Air Mobility Command’s mission of Rapid Global Mobility.

“JB MDL is extremely important to all the other core mission sets of the Air Force,” said Wright. “You can’t have air superiority without Rapid Global Mobility.”

As the guest speaker at the senior NCO induction ceremony here, Wright had a unique opportunity to mentor the Air Force’s newest senior NCOs.

“I am focused on helping our newly minted senior NCOs understand their responsibilities – how to be accountable, how to take care of their Airmen and how to build bridges,” said Wright. “The stakes are extremely high, but we have a lot of confidence in them. I’m excited to watch them grow.”

Wright left the Airmen with a message of thanks and expressed his support for Airmen across the Air Force.

“I’m always working hard every single day to make life better for all of our Airmen across the Air Force,” said Wright. “And I’m pretty excited about doing it, too.”
