Press Release: Army National Guard units to conduct range training Published June 7, 2013 By Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Public Affairs JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. -- Two Army National Guard units are scheduled to conduct mortar training at the Dix ranges between June 7-9, 2013, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Units training include: the 2nd Battalion, 113th Infantry Regiment, from Riverdale N.J., and 1st Squadron, 102nd Cavalry (Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition), from Westfield, N.J. This training is essential and helps to ensure the readiness of America's fighting force. Residents may hear more noise than usual coming from the ranges and may experience possible ground shaking due to the training. It is important to note that noise from the ranges may travel farther during overcast weather conditions.
