Three people were killed and more than 100 were injured when two explosions occurred at the finish line of the Boston Marathon yesterday bringing about an even keener attention to security across the country.

Service members, families and personnel at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst should remain vigilant and keep in mind the following facts:

· Past attacks in the continental United States have occurred in cities and towns, but military bases remain significant terrorist targets.
· Individuals should be aware and report suspicious activities no matter the setting.
· People should report anything suspicious to law enforcement.
· Advanced intelligence may not be available and law enforcement actions may not prevent attacks, so it is important for everyone to play a role in deterring possible attacks by performing random antiterrorism measures.
