The Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst community welcomed Chief Master Sgt. Andy Kaiser, Air Mobility Command's newly-appointed command chief, on the second stop of his emersion tour of three East Coast AMC bases.

A highlight of Kaiser's visit was the enlisted all-call for the Airmen of JB MDL. Airmen of every enlisted rank filled the Joint Base Theater to capacity in anticipation of Kaiser's arrival. Kaiser took the floor after a brief introduction from Command Chief Master Sgt. Cui, U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center command chief.

He started the all-call by instructing Airman Malcam Roberson, the lowest-ranking Airman in attendance, to take notes on his speech and provide a critique on its main points.

Kaiser opened with a summary of his near-30 years of service in the Air Force, explaining how his career brought him to where he is today. He also touched on how he feels the Air Force core values are a rock-solid example of how an Airman should carry his or herself.

"The mission demands our best, regardless of what the mission is," said Kaiser. "You are a critical component of the Air Force because others rely on you. We are a very lean organization as it is. This is why we need to deliver our best every single day."

Kaiser mentioned the importance of the AMC mission by presenting a theory, "To understand the how and what of AMC, you first must understand the why; and that is because we are answering the call, so others may prevail."

Kaiser opened up the floor to questions near the end of his speech. He then invited Roberson to stand up and read his notes to the audience. When invited, Roberson respectfully provided him with critique. His only critique was that the chief shorten his responses to Airmen's questions in the future.

"It felt good," said Roberson. "I've never had the chance to critique a command chief, so naturally I was pretty nervous. He was very receptive to my advice to shorten the length of his responses, which was cool."

Kaiser presented Roberson with a coin for his hard work when the all-call came to a close.

"Getting coined was pretty exciting," said Roberson. "I will definitely pay more attention during these briefings."

Kaiser introduced himself to JB MDL enlisted Airmen during the all-call. He revealed his aspirations for the Airmen and discussed his vision for AMC as the senior enlisted leader.

Kaiser left Sept. 29 en route to Andrews Air Force Base, Md. to finish his trifecta base tour.
