The Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps created, and recently updated, the Air Force Legal Assistance website to assist active-duty and Reserve component members, retirees and dependents, increase efficiency and track client satisfaction.

Since it is a public site, clients may access the site's features from the comfort of their homes without a common access card. Site features include:

· Legal topics - Information on common legal assistance topics, such as wills and family law issues. It also contains links to other helpful sites.
· Legal worksheets - Provides users with access to online questionnaires for wills, living wills and powers of attorney. After completing the worksheet, the website provides client with a unique "ticket number." Data entered by clients is secure and may be accessed only after clients provide their ticket number to the local legal office.
· Online survey - Following a visit to the legal office, clients are encouraged to provide feedback concerning the professionalism and helpfulness of legal professionals.

Many clients have visited a legal office to obtain a will or other legal document, and realize after arriving that they need to gather more information or documents from home. Sometimes clients realize they need to speak with their spouse about an issue.

Completing an online worksheet will help clients assess critical issues and, in turn, eliminate multiple visits. At the appointment, an attorney or paralegal will then access the client's data with the ticket number, reducing the amount of information the client needs to bring and allowing the legal office to streamline the process to some degree.

While the website increases convenience for clients, users should note the following:

Information on the website is for educational and informational purposes only. The website does not replace consultation with your local JAG, and users should never rely solely on the website when making decisions.

Clients do not have the ability to print legal documents from the website. Clients must visit the legal office and provide their ticket numbers to obtain legal documents.

The website is designed for client convenience, but no one is required to use the website prior to visiting the legal office.

The base legal office looks forward to continuing to serve the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst community's legal needs, and we sincerely hope you find this website helpful. Walk-in legal assistance is available from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays or by appointment.

Call the base legal office at 754-2010 or visit https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil. for more information or to make an appointment.

An online legal worksheet is available to help expedite service prior to a visit to the legal office.
