WFRC offers Joint Base 101 Seminar, Heartlink Session

The Joint Base Warfighter and Family Readiness Center will offer the second Joint Base 101 Seminar Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel located at 3827 School House Road, Falcon Courts North. Registration and continental breakfast will be held from 9 to 9:30 a.m.

The purpose of this seminar is to identify services and programs at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, build a sense of community and encourage communication. Col. Gina Grosso, joint base commander, will welcome family members from all military branches and will provide an overview of the joint base command mission and organizational chart as well as answer questions. Grosso's presentation will be followed by a series of briefings providing information on programs and services offered at the joint base. After lunch, an installation guided tour is scheduled to show attendees JB MDL points of interest.

Primary invitees for the seminar are newly arrived military spouses who relocated to New Jersey during the summer months.

"It is important that our new families have a sense of belonging, become acclimated to changes and start enjoying their tour of duty in beautiful New Jersey, the Garden State," said Amada Espinoza, WFRC Relocation Readiness Program manager.

Heartlink, an interactive session to further familiarize military spouses with the joint base will be offered the following day, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A free continental breakfast and lunch will also be served at this event.
