Upcoming federal benefits open season Published Oct. 5, 2010 JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. -- The 2010 BENEFEDS Open Season (for the 2011 plan year) runs from Nov. 8 through Dec. 13. Please read the following reminders before open season starts: - If you are satisfied with your current Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program plan selection(s), you don't need to do anything to continue your enrollment. It will automatically continue into the 2011 plan year. You do not have to visit the BENEFEDS website unless you want to make changes. Please note that your premiums may change for 2011. Visit www.BENEFEDS.com to see the 2011 rates. - Your enrollment will automatically continue into 2011, even if you're retiring. - You must take action by contacting BENEFEDS during open season if you wish to cancel or change your enrollment. - If you are considering making changes to your FEDVIP enrollment, we encourage you to visit www.BENEFEDS.com before open season to retrieve your BENEFEDS user ID and password. - During open season, you can cancel or change your FEDVIP enrollment effective Jan. 1, 2011, by logging in to www.BENEFEDS.com using your BENEFEDS user ID and password. Once logged in, you can view your 2011 FEDVIP dental and/or vision enrollment details, cancel coverage, change carriers, change enrollment types and add or remove family members. - Except under extremely limited circumstances, the annual open season is your only opportunity to cancel or change your FEDVIP enrollment. You cannot change or cancel your enrollment outside of open season because you can no longer afford premiums or because you retire or change your mind.
