The Fit Factor Youth Sports, Fitness and Life Skills camps still have spaces available for the week-long fitness camps being held here this summer.

The camps are desiged to promote physical activity in a fun and safe environment while promoting lifelong activity and a healthy approach to childhood-obesity prevention, according to Kevin Hansen, McGuire Youth Programs chief. These camps will challenge each child to improve his or her own level of performance.

"These free camps are a great way for JB MDL youth to stay active this summer," said Donald Russoniello, 87th Force Support Squadron youth sports and fitness director. "We are extremely excited to see so many people getting involved in the youth activities."

All campers will be given a Fit Factor password to use the Air Force Youth Fit Factor website. Each camper must wear athletic shorts, T-shirt, socks and sneakers. Lunch and transportation are not provided by the Youth Center. It is the parent's or guardian's responsibility to make sure their child arrives on time daily and brings a water bottle.

These camps are only for youth who are eligible to be members of the youth programs at JB MDL.

Register early to ensure a spot due to limited space. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Priority is given only to youth of current deployed active-duty military.

The camps for youth ages 5 to 8 currently have a waiting list due to the amount of enrollments.

Registration must be completed at the local youth center, which is hosting the camp. Details as follows:
