The Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst commissary is scheduled to host a free golf clinic with a Professional Golf Association Tour player Oct. 9 at 9:30 a.m.

The JB MDL commissary was the highest performer in the Northeast Region "Every Penny Counts" contest promotion, and won the grand-prize of hosting a golf clinic with Brad Faxon.

Over a period of two months, 1 cent was donated to the Fisher House Foundation for select products sold at the commissary.

"I applaud Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst for their hard work and commitment to raising money for wounded and ill veterans across the country," said Michelle Keating, president and CEO of Alder Foods and the Chairwoman of the Fisher House Boston Fund-Raising Committee.

Not only was JB MDLs commissary the top-selling store in the Northeast region, they were the highest-performing store nationwide in the "Every Penny Counts" contest.

The proceeds from the commissary sponsored Army Staff Sgt. (ret.) Dale Beatty, a double amputee war hero, on a trip to the Deustsche Bank Championship Pro-Am event, a golf tournament held in Boston.

"We participate in many contests, but this one is special," said John Zoubra commissary store director at JB MDL. "The proceeds went to the Fisher House and it gave the commissary the opportunity to give back to the military and our heroes."

Mr. Zoubra will be recognized for the store's accomplishments at the golf clinic.
