Photo Essay: The Faces of EAGLE FLAG 2009

More than 160 Airmen and Soldiers and 120 role players, observers and instructors played a role in this year's EAGLE FLAG, a joint exercise sponsored by the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center. 

While EAGLE FLAG typically focuses on the Air Force mission of airbase opening, this year exercised Joint Task Force-Port Opening, a mission developed by U.S. Transportation Command. During the mission, Airmen from the 621st Contingency Response Wing and Soldiers from the 597th Transportation Group worked together to establish and operate an aerial port and a forward distribution node in order to provide humanitarian aid to the fictional country of Chimera following a natural disaster.
