Retiree volunteers’ hard work appreciated

Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. -- The Retiree Activities Office at McGuire recognized four local retiree volunteers as "Volunteer of the Year" at a luncheon July 22.

About 42 volunteers from the surrounding areas, along with base leadership, were present at the luncheon, said Lt. Col. (ret.) Robert Hansen, director of the Retiree Activities Office at McGuire.

The four men recognized were Master Sgt. (ret.) David Clapper, of the Willow Grove Air National Guard facility, Master Sgt. (ret.) Daniel Plashinski, from Wyoming Valley, Penn., Lt. Col. (ret.) Robert Hodges, from the McGuire Passenger Terminal, and Master Sgt. (ret.) Joseph Hayes, from the 87th Medical Group Pharmacy.

Their dedicated work to the Air Force was recognized by Col. Gina Grosso, 87th Air Base Wing commander, with words of thanks and the presentation of certificates from the Air Force Retiree Council.

"It was a very nice luncheon," Colonel Hansen said. "It's nice to recognize the great work the volunteers do for the Air Force."
