Help fellow Airmen through AFAF

Donations are currently being accepted for the Air Force Assistance Fund through April 7. The AFAF benefits four organizations, including the Air Force Aid Society, Air Force Village, Air Force Enlisted Village and LeMay Foundation.

"The AFAF is the one time per year that we actively seek contributions for these four organizations," said Senior Master Sgt. Joe Steiner, base AFAF POC. "The charitable affiliates provide support to the entire Air Force family, to include active duty, retirees, Reservists, Guard and their family members."

McGuire's goal this year is to have 100 percent contact with all personnel. Last year, in addition to 100 percent contact, Team McGuire raised more than 100 percent of its monetary goal.

"I strongly support everything the AFAF stands for," said Col. Scott Smith, 305th Air Mobility Wing commander, "and I thank them for the great services they provide to our Airmen and their families."

Sergeant Steiner encourages all Airmen to consider donating to the AFAF.

"This is our chance to support our Air Force family. None of the AFAF affiliates receive taxpayer's support - all of the money comes from the generous contributions from donors all over the world," he said.

"AFAF supports us in our time of need, giving back to Team McGuire more than six times the amount contributed last year alone," Sergeant Steiner said. "Supporting any of these organizations is part of being a good wingman and helping the Air Force family."
