McGuire EOD responds to suspicious package
Staff Sgt. Joshua Mills, 305th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance team leader, visually inspects a suspicious package at Fort Dix Feb. 12. The team leaders’ inspection only comes after the EOD Robot F6A, known as the down range eyes and ears of EOD, does the first inspection remotely. The EOD team usually consists of three members; this team included Sergeant Mills, Senior Airman John Matthews, and Airman 1st Class Kala Jenkins, with the latter two working the F6A from inside the trailer. Fortunately, the suspicious package turned out to be a false alarm, but every threat is treated as the real thing. The McGuire EOD Flight responds to reports at McGuire, Fort Dix, Lakehurst and Fort Monmouth and provides support to surrounding law enforcement. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Wayne Russell)
