‘Best of the best’ -- 305th SVS Marketing team named best in AMC Published Jan. 27, 2009 By Airman 1st Class Bekah Phy 305th Air Mobility Wing public affairs McGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE, N.J. -- The 305th Services Squadron's Marketing team was recently named best in Air Mobility Command for 2008. This is the second consecutive win for 305th SVS Marketing. "The annual award recognizes the best of the best in AMC," said Monty Dunn, 305th SVS Marketing Program director. "The acknowledgement is prestigious, being graded against the other 11 marketing departments within the command. We are fortunate to have been recognized twice in a row." Several accomplishments went into the award for the marketing team, including their innovation and project management and their use of video and multimedia to promote the squadron. "Our Design Center and sponsorship programs were recognized for adding $565,000 for program enhancements such as larger prizes, free or reduced event admissions, special events, NASCAR tickets and more," Mr. Dunn said. Designing, coordinating, and implementing multiple projects, outside of their normal operations, also significantly contributed to the award. Projects like the Darryl Worley concert, Air Expo 2008, Match-Up Picnic, and support for the Air Force Ball and Air Force Week in Philadelphia all contributed, he said. In a letter, Col. Lee Wyatt, AMC A1 director, praised all of the AMC winners. "The team superstars provided outstanding services support to AMC, the Air Force, and our number one asset - our people. They truly are the 'best of the best,'" the colonel said. "I appreciate the significant accomplishments and hard work of each organization, especially given the challenges we've faced in the past year. The competition was tough; the personnel and units have truly earned these awards." Mr. Dunn was equally as proud of his 305th SVS marketing teammates. "As the director of marketing, I can say it is our marketing staff that deserves all the praise for both wins. The office consists of only four individuals who are outstanding multi-taskers and excellent time managers. Each staff member possesses great skills. They exceed my expectations in not only their day-to-day responsibilities, but also when asked to take on a non-marketing task or to design a new approach to a problem - they are just an amazing group to be associated with," Mr. Dunn said. "The team concept of operation allows us to accomplish the work of departments twice our size," he said. "This was also a contributing factor - the low personnel to high-benefit ratio keep costs down while exceeding production requirements." Mr. Dunn also gave praise to 305th SVS leadership who consistently contribute to the success of his team. "The 305th SVS marketing program is a success because of the trust many have shown us. Our 305th SVS and 305th Mission Support Group leadership allow us the freedom to act upon our experience, giving us enormous flexibility introducing new programs, providing professional business guidance, and undertaking events and programs that benefit McGuire personnel."
