Registration for AETC Symposium still open Published Nov. 21, 2008 By Capt. Rose Richeson Air Education and Training Command Public Affairs RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- Airmen and Air Force civilians can still register for the 2009 Air Education and Training Command Symposium being held Jan. 15 and 16 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio. Members of all commands who attend the interactive technology expose will see demonstrations of the next generation of warfighting technology presented by more than 70 military and civilian booth and demonstration exhibitors. The symposium includes an Air Force Association Expo with demonstrations by Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Accenture and others. Air Force Recruiting Service national assets including the Monster Truck, NASCAR and Orange County Chopper will be scattered across the expo site for attendees to view. The two-day event offers a series of seminars coordinated by Air University and organized around five tracks, all pertaining to the Air Force and its current and future role in America's defense. Discussion on topics from the threat posed by a nuclear Iran to challenges for the Air Force in standing up the U.S. Africa Command will be held. Participants can decide which lectures and discussions they want to attend, tailoring their experience at the symposium to their own professional needs and interests. The event culminates in an AETC/AFA Ball celebrating warriors throughout the command. Retired Gen. Lloyd W. "Fig" Newton, the former AETC commander, will emcee the ball.
