Team McGuire members are encouraged to participate in Sports Day Sept. 24 at the fitness center. The day will begin at 7 a.m. with the Warrior Run.

To add to the fun, the fitness center staff has offered up a challenge to all McGuire units/squadrons.

"All squadrons at McGuire are encouraged to enter a team for each sport," said Tech. Sgt. Alita Mahadocon, 305th Services Squadron fitness specialist. "At the Warrior Run a roll call will be taken to see what squadrons are here for the event."

Other than the run, participants can try their skills at walleyball, racquetball, spin, basketball, and volleyball. There will also be a push-up/sit-up contest, a bench press contest and the Chiefs vs. Eagles volleyball game.

"Sports Day will be a day of friendly competition for everyone to enjoy," Sergeant Mahadocon said. "It will be a change of pace from normal fitness activities and a chance for squadrons to come together as a team."

Sign-ups for each event will continue through Sept. 22 at noon at the fitness center. This will allow the staff ample time to get brackets ready for each sport; they will post the times at the Warrior Run, so squadron members know their show times.

In addition to Sports Day participants, the fitness center staff is looking for a minimum of 30 volunteers to help with the Warrior Run and 10 physical training leaders to assist with the push-up/sit-up contest. Interested volunteers can call Sergeant Mahadocon at (609) 754-6085 or e-mail alita.mahadocon@mcguire.af.mil.

"We hope to see everyone at Sports Day!" she said.
