McGuire Airmen selected for staff sergeant Published Aug. 20, 2008 MCGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE, N.J. -- More than 100 McGuire senior airmen are celebrating after being selected for promotion to the NCO ranks. Air Force officials selected 12,209 of 28,098 eligible senior airmen for promotion to staff sergeant for a selection rate of 43.45 percent. The average score for those selected was 268.39, with an average time in grade and time in service of 2.25 and 4.85 years respectively. The average score was based on the following point averages: 131.62 for enlisted performance reports, 54.10 for the promotion fitness exam, 53.69 for the specialty knowledge test, 19.31 for time in grade, 11.80 for time in service and 0.96 for decorations.
