Calling all Airmen and families! Join Team McGuire for fun, food and games at the July 3 Independence Day wing Match Up picnic.

"This event is a tremendous opportunity for us to celebrate our nation's freedom together, and support our base and major command at the same time," said Col. Balan Ayyar, 305th Air Mobility Wing commander.

The free picnic, which will be held July 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. adjacent to the McGuire Club, will give McGuire personnel a chance to win giveaways while enjoying live entertainment, free lunch and bounce castles. The picnic will also give McGuire a chance to win a $1,000 incentive awarded to the Air Mobility Command base that has the highest one day registration increase in a 24-hour period, as well as other cash prizes awarded during AMC's Match Up 2008.

"Participating in MatchUp offers a chance to win serious money for an individual but it can also help McGuire as a whole," said Monty Dunn, 305th Services Squadron marketing director. "The game includes a 'Base Race' - a competition among the 11 bases that make up AMC. The bases with the most game piece registrations can win thousands of dollars for their Services squadrons. That money must be used to make practical quality of life purchases that directly benefit troops. The trick is that it takes two game piece registrations to count as one point towards the Base Race. That's why we encourage folks to 'Play Two'."

The Match Up game is an interactive Web-based game designed to increase awareness of various programs offered by Air Force Sevices. Personnel can log on and register at www.amcmatchup.com and play online or by phone at (888) 597-9960 by entering the 11-digit game piece number located on Match Up game pieces; games pieces are available at various Services locations and events. Registering game pieces also offers InstaWin opportunities such cash and merchandise prizes, as well as discounts at Services locations.

Additionally, four $25 prizes are awarded to each base every week of the program. At the conclusion of Match Up 2008, there will be one $500 winner and five $100 winners at each base. Grand prizes awarded throughout AMC will be $10,000 for first place, $7,000 for second and $5,000 for third.
