AMCTES changes command Friday Published June 24, 2008 By Erica Birnbaum Air Mobility Command Test and Evaluation Squadron MCGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE, N.J. -- The Air Mobility Command Test and Evaluation Squadron will undergo a change of command here Friday. Lieutenant Colonel Timothy White will relinquish command to Lieutenant Colonel Chuck Henderson. As every end dually serves as a beginning, we say goodbye to one commander while welcoming another. We at AMCTES bid Colonel White a fond farewell as he departs for the Naval War College, Newport City, R.I., where he has been selected for reassignment as an instructor. Colonel White has admirably served as commander of AMCTES since May 2006, during which time he was deployed and served as commander of the 908th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron. We at AMCTES welcome Colonel Henderson to our squadron as the new commander. Colonel Henderson is not foreign to New Jersey--in 2005, he earned a master's of air mobility as an advanced study of air mobility student at the USAF Expeditionary Center, Fort Dix. Prior to this assignment, he served as the executive officer to the commander, 15th Expeditionary Mobility Task Force, and as a C-5 instructor aircraft commander, 22nd Airlift Squadron, Travis AFB, Calif. Although the leadership will change, our mission will never stray. AMCTES is Air Mobility Command's sole operational test and evaluation organization for air mobility-unique weapon systems, subsystems and mission equipment. AMCTES conducts force development evaluations, assesses new tactics and concepts, and performs logistics supportability and service tests on AMC's airlift and tanker aircraft, mission systems and support equipment. Additionally, AMCTES participates in Air Force, joint service and Allied test programs. The change of command ceremony signifies a new day of leadership where the flag will be passed, allegiances bestowed and a unit will once again become part of a centuries-old tradition.
