The second annual education fair, held exclusively for McGuire, Fort Dix and Lakehurst communities, will host colleges, universities, and certification agencies from New Jersey and surrounding states. It is designed to provide individualized information on how to select a degree program, obtain a teaching certification and even start a career in Lenape Regional School District. "We encourage all military members, spouses and families to check out Education on the Green," said Alma Baker, 305th Mission Support Squadron supervisory education services specialist. "This event is a wonderful opportunity to come to the golf course for free food, free gifts and free information from an unprecedented forum of educators and educational institutions," she said. Several schools will be in attendance, including Burlington County College, Thomas Edison State College, Drexel University, University of Phoenix and Rutgers University. Information on the Troops and Spouses to Teachers programs, represented in 14 states, will also be available. These programs provide support to spouses of active-duty military and selected Reserves in their pursuit of K-12 teaching positions, Ms. Baker said. Limited funding will be provided to eligible spouses to reimburse the cost of examinations required for state teacher licensure and/or certification.
