Teams are needed for the McGuire 56 three-on-three basketball tournament at the fitness center here June 7 at 9 a.m. "We're hoping to make this a big event to kick-off the summer with a bang and help boost morale throughout the Team McGuire community," said Tech. Sgt. Felix Agosto, McGuire 56 president. "The stakes are high since there will be several prizes awarded to the winners, including bragging rights!" According to the tournament's rules of engagement, there must be a minimum of four teams for the event to take place. There is a $30 entry fee per team. The games will be half-court with two games being conducted simultaneously at the fitness center. There will be a ten-minute limit on each game; a tie-breaker will add two minutes and sudden death will win. Team members will be responsible for keeping their own score and making their own calls. A winner will be determined in a single elimination process. At the conclusion of the tournament, prizes will be awarded to the top two teams. The first-place team will receive trophies, gift cards to a sporting goods store and McGuire 56 coins. The second-place team will receive trophies and McGuire 56 coins.
