Former commanders, chiefs gather at USAF EC
History, and a reunion of sorts, took place at the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center on Fort Dix, N.J., Dec. 19. A conference of former commanders and superintendents/command chiefs took place at the Center. Included in this photo are retired Gen. William J. Begert, first commander of the Center from 1994-95, retired Maj. Gen. Richard C. Marr, second Center commander from 1995-97, Maj. Gen. Scott Gray, Center commander from 2005-07, Maj. Gen. Kip Self, current Center commander, retired Chief Master Sgt. Joseph F. McGinnis, Center superintendent from 1997-98, retired Chief Master Sgt. Paul V. Hetteroth, Center superintendent from 1998-2000, retired Chief Master Sgt. John Dodsworth, Center superintendent from 2000-02, and current Center command chief, Chief Master Sgt. Jeffry Helm. The gathering was organized by General Self to discuss history of the Center and ways to step forward in the future. The Center, formerly named the Air Mobility Warfare Center, was established by Air Mobility Command in 1994. It became the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center in March 2007.
