This year's Combined Federal Campaign is scheduled to kick-off during a ceremony at Club Dix Oct. 18 at 10 a.m.

The CFC was established in 1961 and is the largest workplace charity campaign in the country. This annual fall fundraising drive allows nearly four million federal employees and military members to contribute to thousands of local and national non-profit organizations. The annual campaign is scheduled to continue through Nov. 30 here.

"McGuire's goal for this year's campaign is 100 percent contact," said Master Sgt. Philip Leonard, 819th Global Support Squadron operations flight superintendent and 621st Contingency Response Wing CFC point of contact. "All federal employees are eligible to contribute, and any amount from $2 and up a month can be donated through pay deductions. Every little bit helps."

There are more than 1,700 charities donators can choose from, ranging anywhere from animal welfare advocacy groups to medical research and human rights organizations.

One-time cash donations are also accepted, and individuals may donate to as many organizations as they wish. Last year, Team McGuire members donated a total of $157,449.
