The 305th Air Mobility Wing recently completed the first KC-10 Operational Readiness Inspection of its kind.

Though the inspection featured a KC-10 mission, it tested the entire wing's ability to accomplish the mission objective.

"For the first wing to ever do this inspection, we performed superbly well," said Col. Hal Rice, 305th Operations Group commander. "The support group, med group, maintenance group and operations group got together to pull this off in an excellent manner. Quite honestly, we owe much of our success to Maj. Rich Bungarden from our Plans and Programs shop as well as the guidance and expertise of the 108th (Air Refueling Wing), who was helping us every step of the way.

"Team McGuire can be extremely proud of this first-ever accomplishment."

According to a draft executive summary by Col. John Almind, the Inspector General Team Chief, the 305th AMW displayed pride in themselves and their unit throughout the challenging inspection with positive attitudes and noteworthy professionalism.

He continued to say that with their "can do" culture, the 305th AMW is ready and willing to dependably execute their portion of this type of mission.

The IG team recognized the 305th Services Squadron for their outstanding performance. A Team Recognition Award was awarded to the 605th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Alert Launch Team. Individual recognition was also given to Senior Airman Edison Aguilar, 305th Services Squadron, and Senior Airman Josh Ames, 305th Security Forces Squadron.
