Wingman concept gets a face-lift

Wingman Day is one of the Air Force traditions, proudly orchestrated annually. It is a chance to get to know one another and build team spirit and an overall unified force.

In this day and age, the Wingman tradition, like many traditions, is getting a make-over to better suit it to today's modern Airmen. After last year's Wingman Day, the 305th Medical Group requested feedback from its members. In an epiphany, it was decided that the Wingman concept should be maintained every day and focus on the concerns of the members. Thus, the "Everyday Wingman" concept was born.

Initiated by the medical group, there are now squadron Wingman Sustainment Committees who developed exercises based on the hot topics of today's Airmen. The most common concerns lately are morale, balancing work and family, force shaping and career development.

During the medical group's monthly training day in May, Lt. Col. Vivian Harris, 305th Medical Operations Squadron commander, kicked off "Everyday Wingman" with an introduction of her committee.

Can you name a member of your workforce with a few clues? MDOS could, did and enjoyed a chance to get to know more about each other -- a cleverly constructed morale activity.
