Can Do
The Can Do Crew would like to recognize Tech. Sgt. Dennis Wallace, 305th Logistics Readiness Squadron. As NCO in charge of fuels management flight administration element, Sergeant Wallace recently went above and beyond in assisting with the air show. Everyone knows that air shows are exciting, thrilling and a lot of fun to attend, but what few people know is the time and effort required to bring such an event to fruition. Sergeant Wallace was charged with procuring smoke oil for the demonstration aircraft that would be performing, and he needed to acquire it at a reasonable price. Smoke oil is a product required by demonstration aircraft to create the plumes of smoke that we see emitted while they perform certain aerial maneuvers. During his research, Sergeant Wallace discovered that he could acquire some smoke oil from Dover AFB, Del., for no cost if he would arrange to have it picked up. Not leaving anything to chance, he traveled to Delaware himself to pick up the smoke oil and saved the Air Show Committee $9,800. Sergeant Wallace's efforts to single-handedly procure, transport and store a product that most of us have never heard of showed his "Can Do" spirit, which in the end produced effects for all to see.
