Can Do 1
The Can Do Crew would like to recognize Anna Marie DelSordo, 305th Communications Squadron. On Jan. 2, Mrs. DelSordo's service above and beyond the call of duty ensured that a family was reunited with their son who had been deployed to Iraq for more than a year. The parents and brother of the Army servicemember had driven all the way from Richmond, Va., to meet him at Fort Dix upon his arrival home. When they reached Fort Dix at the time they were supposed to meet their son, he was not there and did not show for several hours. Needless to say, they were extremely worried. The family returned to their hotel and tried to get in touch with someone at Fort Dix who could give them more information on the whereabouts of their son. After more than an hour of unsuccessful attempts, Mrs. DelSordo (operator six) came to their assistance. She stayed on the line until she was able to put the family in touch with someone who knew which plane their son was on, the reason for its delay, when it would be arriving, and also when and where they could finally go and meet him. This was not an easy task as it was a day granted off to federal employees in remembrance of President Ford. Her service made a difference in the lives of this family, and her "Can Do" attitude inspires those around her.
