Celebrate Thanksgiving at McGuire with food, family, friends Published Nov. 17, 2006 By Senior Airman Danielle Johnson McGuire Public Affairs MCGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE, N.J. -- Thanksgiving is Thursday, and the holiday season is officially here. For many, this holiday is a time to enjoy food and football with family and friends. Unfortunately, many servicemembers stationed far from home, whether overseas or stateside, are unable to travel to be with their friends and families. For those McGuire Airmen who will be in the area on Thanksgiving, the following meals will be offered. -- A Thanksgiving dinner will be held following the Gospel Service Sunday, 11 a.m. in the Chapel 1 annex. The meal is open to the McGuire community. Volunteers are needed to assist with the meal. This meal is open to all E-1 to E-4s. For more information, call (609) 283-0520. -- Halvorsen Hall Dining Facility will serve a Thanksgiving meal Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is open to all active duty, reserve, retirees and dependents. No registration is required. The menu will include Steamship round beef, roast turkey, baked ham and boneless roast turkey.
