Airmen from the 87th Civil Engineering Squadron receive a tour of a KC-10 Extender hosted by the 305th Air Mobility Wing, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ, April 22, 2021. The Snow Crew Appreciation Tour was an event for first responders that helped support and maintain the base during the major snow events that happened during the end of 2020 and into the beginning of 2021. The Snow Crew Appreciation Tour was a thank you to a cross-functional team, comprised of members from the wing staff, two groups, six squadrons and more than 10 work centers combined. Their expertise minimized operational impacts while safely, efficiently and effectively restoring two airfields to full mission capable status during the most severe winter in more than four years. The Snow Crew Appreciation Tour was an event for first responders that helped support and maintain the base during the major snow events that happened during the end of 2020 and into the beginning of 2021. Airmen from the 87th Civil Engineering Squadron receive a tour of a C-17 Globemaster III, hosted by the 305th Air Mobility Wing Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ, April 22, 2021. The Snow Crew Appreciation Tour was an event to thank those who helped support and maintain the base during the major snow events that happened during the end of 2020 and into the beginning of 2021. The team provided 27 timely decision and information briefs to joint installation senior leaders, effectively allocated scarce snow removal equipment between 12 locally assigned flying units, prioritized 136 sorties and provided 24 hour per day operational direction and coordination.
