Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst service members and civilians conducted a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at JB MDL, N.J., Sept. 11, 2024. The annual ceremony was held at JB MDL's 9/11 memorial located on the Fort Dix side of the installation, which displays two bent and burned steel beams from one the fallen World Trade Center towers. The memorial also features a pentagon-shaped stone wall that includes a plaque commemorating the attack. Emergency management service members read prayers, held a moment of silence and performed the symbolic toll of the bell to pay tribute to the 2,996 live lost in 2001.
