This year's Air Force Assistance Fund, providing an opportunity for Airmen to help their fellow wingmen, kicks off March 28.

The AFAF campaign supports four charities dedicated to caring for Airmen throughout their lives, including the General and Mrs. Curtis E. Lemay Foundation, the Air Force Aid Society, the Air Force Enlisted Village and Blue Skies of Texas (formerly known as the Air Force Villages Charitable Foundation).

"The Air Force Assistance Fund charities provide the manpower and resources to rise up to these challenges.  They help us be good wingmen, providing an outlet to ask for help, knowing that it is Airmen helping Airmen," said Capt. Curtis Raaberg, JB MDL AFAF project officer.

The primary goal of this year's campaign is to ensure representatives achieve 100 percent face-to-face contact with all joint base Airmen, spreading awareness about the charities, answering questions and instructing them how to donate.

"All Air Force members, including our veterans, can contribute to the Air Force Assistance Fund by contacting their Squadron keyworkers," added Raaberg. "Flyers will be posted around the base with additional information on the campaign and contact information for your specific keyworker. Donation forms are easy to complete, requiring only minutes of your time."
