JB officials release consumer confidence reports Published June 12, 2015 Joint Base Public Affairs JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. -- Joint base officials from the 87th Civil Engineer and Aerospace Medicine Squadrons released the 2014 Consumer Confidence Reports for the base's three drinking water systems June 11, 2015 here. The CCR is a federally-mandated document summarizing annual drinking water test results for a public water system registered with the state. The 87th Civil Engineer Squadron and Pride Industries maintain the base's water systems and the 87th Aerospace Medicine Squadron monitors the base's drinking system and sends water samples to the state for analysis. Each report includes system information and water-monitoring results for biological, organic, inorganic and radioactive substances in the water supply. The report also examines if these substances exceed federal or state limits on water-quality parameters outlined by the Environmental Protection Agency in the Safe Drinking Water Act and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Safe Drinking Water Act Rules. The drinking water on McGuire, Dix and Lakehurst is safe to drink. During the reporting calendar, the Dix water system exceeded the NJDEP's primary drinking water standards in a single sample taken Aug. 5, 2014. The sample indicated higher than allowed average concentration of Haloacetic Acids. The incident was not an emergency and public notification was made. A subsequent sampling in November 2014 showed the levels were back below the allowed limit. To view the 2014 Consumer Confidence Reports, click here for Dix, McGuire or Lakehurst.
