With a newly minted clinic, Dental will.

The 87th Dental Squadron held a ribbon cutting ceremony for their renovated space, capping a 14-month, $6.1 million internal renovation project at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. Oct. 28, 2014.

Preparations for the renovation began in October of 2012, and included three phases, with the final move occurring Oct. 7, 2014.

The renovation, spearheaded by Mills Creek and United Medical Design Builders, modernized and expanded 26 treatment rooms to 30, provided a state-of-the art oral surgery suite, an upgraded specialty wing,  and a redesigned Central Instrument Processing Center.

More than 100 members from across the joint base, including wing commanders and mission partners attended the ceremony.

During the ceremony Col. James Hodges, JB MDL and 87th Air Base Wing commander, and Col. Andrew Cole, 87th Medical Group commander, recognized Tech. Sgt. James Platt, 87th Dental Squadron project officer, for his leadership and contributions during the renovation.

At the end of the ceremony a tour was given with eight stations set-up to showcase the expanded capabilities of the newly renovated clinic.

This new, cutting edge dental clinic will bolster the 87th DS mission of ensuring dentally ready warfighters while providing world-class oral healthcare and is a great asset for the joint base.
