Wintery weather initiates snow removal efforts

JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. -- Amid midday snowfall, crew chiefs of the 714th and 305th Aircraft Maintenance Squadrons performed various tasks during snow removal efforts on the flightline here Jan. 25.

The three-member team worked primarily to install engine covers on KC-10 Extender aircraft to prevent snow from accumulating inside the engine.

During severe winter weather, safety measures are undertaken to preserve the engines of KC-10 Extender and C-17 aircraft by members of both the Reserve and active-duty aircraft maintenance squadrons here.
