An Airman from the 305th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron was awarded the 2010 Air Mobility Command Airlift Crew Chief of the Year.

Tech. Sgt. Daniel Humbert was named as the award recipient for his contributions to the Air Force Operational mission based on sustained job performance, job knowledge, job efficiency and results.

"Congratulations to Sergeant Humbert," said Col. Charles W. Hill, 305th Maintenance Group commander. "Yet another AMC validation of the incredible job the 305th MXG does every day."

Humbert expertly managed a team of 126 C-17 aircraft technicians to ensure around the clock maintenance support to more than $3.5 billion of Air Force assets.

"Humbert is a model Airman who epitomizes the Air Force core values of 'Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence In All We Do,'" said Lt. Col. Eric Johnson, 305th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron commander.

The 305th MXG is no stranger to this award.

"This is now two years in a row the 305th has recognized with the AMC crew chief of the year award," said Hill.

Humbert accumulated 108 days off-station from February to October 2010 supporting numerous missions to include moving ground troops, supplies, and equipment in and out of U.S. Central Command's area of responsibility. In addition, Humbert deployed for another 67 days supporting U.S. Central Command operations where he provided critical maintenance support on 53 aircraft missions and amassed more than 310 flying hours.

"Humbert lives the Air Force core values and always serves as a true role model in both his professional and personal life," said Johnson.
