McGuire/Rancocas Valley Little League team garners District title Published July 30, 2008 By Erin Blauvelt MCGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE, N.J. -- The McGuire/Rancocas Valley Little League team won the N.J. District 13 title at Iron Works Park in Mount Holly July 12. The victory came in a three game series against Cherry Hill American Little League. "The boys all put in a great effort. And much of the successful season was due to the volunteer coaches from both McGuire and Rancocas Valley," said Kevin Hansen, McGuire Youth Sports and Fitness director. "Tech. Sgt. George Gonzalez, Senior Master Sgt. George Motil and Dennis Delgado were outstanding volunteers for Little League." Mr. Hansen added that the twelve-boy team boasted three standout players from McGuire: Zach Motil, Mike Sifford and Kris Pesnell. He also said this was the "first-ever district title for the team." The District 13 title qualified them to play for the N.J. Section 4 title. Their season held two more games, one against Deptford at West Deptford and one against Winslow at Hammonton. Despite a great effort, they did not win the Section game. The team is currently forming for next year.
