The 2015 Combined Federal Campaign kicked off Nov. 16 at Tommy B's Community Activities Center here.

The event marked the beginning of the CFC's South Jersey campaign, which includes Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and the regions of Mercer and Ocean County down to Cape May.

"The CFC is going strong this year," said Capt. Bradley Clemmons, JB MDL CFC project officer. "Half way through our 2015 effort and it's evident that JB MDL is full of caring and generous people."

The directory features more than 2,500 charities which include local, national and international agencies, so that everyone can find a way to contribute meaningfully.

"All of the key workers are striving for 100 percent face-to-face contact with each federal employee," added Clemmons.

The CFC was created to organize and simplify the process for federal employees who wanted donate to charities. The first official CFC was conducted in 1964 and introduced the concept of payroll deduction as a way to make donations, according to the CFC website.

"We are receiving a lot of support from the commanders of all the different units and branches.  I look forward to seeing how much we can raise for the charities as our campaign wraps up Dec. 11," said Clemmons.

The CFC accepts donations in the form of cash, check, direct deposit or automatic withdrawal from a pay check. For more information, call Capt. Bradley Clemmons at (609) 754-0548 or your unit's CFC representative.
