Marine administrative message 235/14 announces that Reserve Marines called to active duty in support of contingency operations or activated for reasons other than training are now eligible for basic allowance for housing or overseas housing allowance during their tour.

The MARADMIN explains a Reserve Marine with or without dependents is eligible for BAH or OHA.

According to the MARADMIN, if a Reserve Marine receives permanent change of station orders authorizing a household goods transportation, their BAH or OHA is based on the new permanent duty station. However, if the Marine is called or ordered to active duty and a PCS order is not issued, the BAH or OHA rate is based on the primary residence location, reflected as the Marine's mailing address. A Reserve Marine can only have one primary residence at any given time.
