All submissions will be considered for posting to the Ready Navy website and Facebook page. Submissions should be e-mailed to readynavy@navy.mil.

"There are everyday heroes in our midst throughout the Navy community," said Jeff Sanford, Ready Navy program manager, "Personal photos and videos can often capture the reality and strength of living through an emergency and raise awareness, helping others understand the importance of emergency preparedness."

Ready Navy asks you to write a short highlight of your emergency preparedness story to include a description of:
* the emergency
* who was involved (kids, spouse, neighbors, etc.)
* what worked
* what didn't
* lessons learned
* advice for others.

If you have photos, please send photos of before, during, and after the emergency.

If you have a video clip of your preparedness drills, serious or funny, at home or work, please send videos, choosing from:
* Earthquake - Drop! Cover! Hold On!
* Fire - Stop! Drop! Roll!
* Flood - Turn around! Don't Drown!

Be creative! You can help others by sharing what you know. Submit your story and photos or video to readynavy@navy.mil and be an emergency preparedness hero to your community.
