JB MDL recognizes August as Antiterrorism Awareness Month Published Aug. 10, 2011 By Jim Coleman Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Antiterrorism Awareness Office JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. -- This year Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst recognizes the month of August as Antiterrorism Awareness Month. Last year, the U.S. Army declared August as AT Awareness Month and in the spirit of joint basing, JB MDL is adopting this as a best practice. The purpose of this month is to heighten AT awareness and vigilance on or around JB MDL, enhancing protection of people and assets located on the installation. Additional information is being distributed through unit or agency antiterrorism officers or representatives. If you don't already know who your ATO or ATR is, I invite you to find out who he or she is and talk to them about your local AT program. You can also ask them how you can complete your required AT Level I training, if you haven't already done so. Feel free to visit our link on the JB MDL website at www.jointbasemdl.af.mil/jointbaseantiterrorismoffice.asp Remember the importance of around-the-clock vigilance, especially in light of the death of Osama Bin Laden and the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Contact your ATO or ATR or a member of the JB MDL Antiterrorism Office at 754-0442 if you have any questions or want to learn more.
