JB MDL commander wishes all Happy Holiday Published Dec. 13, 2010 By Col. Gina Grosso Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst commander JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. -- As we celebrate the holiday season, I wanted to take a moment and express my personal thanks for the amazing work you have done to make our first year as a Joint Base a tremendous success. Every day I am amazed by the remarkable talent, energy, commitment, and dedication demonstrated by the men and women serving on the Joint Base. Your hard work made us what we are today - America's Premiere Joint Warfighting Base. You have my sincerest thanks for the sacrifices you and your families make for our country day in and day out. I am very proud of your accomplishments, and truly honored to serve beside you. While every holiday season is filled with joy and happiness, please take a moment to reflect on our service men and women that are not able to be with us this Holiday season and be grateful for their Service. If you have friends that are deployed, please make a special effort to spread some Holiday cheer to their families and make sure the family is taken care of while your friend is deployed. I want to offer a special thanks to all our family members who have a mom, dad, son, daughter, brother or sister that is currently deployed--you are the Nation's unsung heroes. Your military member cannot protect and defend our Nation without your love and support. Your sacrifices equally ensure our Nation will continue to enjoy the freedom and prosperity that we are so fortunate to enjoy in the United States. So, again I thank you! I hope everyone takes some this Holiday season to enjoy the company of friends and family, and to revitalize and recharge for the New Year. I have no doubt that 2011 will bring great promise and rewarding challenges for our Joint Base community. To everyone serving on the Joint Base, have a safe and happy holiday season. See you next year!
