Power of the Press Published April 23, 2008 By Capt. Tony Duggan 305th Air Mobility Wing public affairs officer McGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE, N.J. -- The Air Force is changing: The "Chair Force" reputation is a thing of the past - we are Warrior Airmen. Air Force communication is changing as well. A part of these changes is the migration of Air Force news to the base public web sites, a change that occurred here at McGuire in August of last year. Before the Air Force began utilizing public web sites, the newspaper was the commander's primary means of communicating key messages to his or her personnel. To me, the newspaper is more than just a communication tool - it's a way to reach out to all of Team McGuire. Every news article, commentary and announcement is selected with you, the reader, in mind. This paper doesn't belong solely to your public affairs office or the publisher; it belongs in your hands. Please take the time to embrace this newly-revamped newspaper. As you read the articles, I want you to be reminded of our three enduring themes: Mission Excellence, Developing Leaders and Preserving Resources. I want you to be inspired to incorporate these themes into your daily life. Keep them in mind at all times - on the job, at home and in the community. Always be proud of what we do at McGuire Air Force Base, and always keep the Warrior Spirit!
