I was privileged to witness an amazing contribution defining American engineering Aug. 4 -- a work of art from steel -- and more importantly, an immeasurable piece of history.

Prior to boarding her, I walked through a mini street fair of unique vendors and heroes. Can-Do Airmen from McGuire gathered at the Battleship New Jersey to take part in an annual celebration honoring the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. From fire fighters to explosive ordinance experts -- our leaders showcased the Air Force to the thousands of visitors who explored this floating museum on this very hot day. The combined talents of Airmen, Sailors and Veterans from years past teamed together and provided an exceptional snapshot into the various capabilities of the sister services.

More information can be found on the Internet. It only took me three years to visit this national landmark ... don't let this amazing opportunity pass you by.
