‘Mission partnership — bridging teams’ Published June 1, 2007 By Col. Rick Martin 305th Air Mobility Wing commander MCGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE -- Partnership is defined as a contractual obligation between parties with each party sharing in the outcome of the business enterprise. Though this terminology has 'Corporate America' stigma, partnership is well-refined within our military. At Team McGuire, we are indeed a strong partnership. Each organization works hard, and we all enjoy the extraordinary fruits of our collective labors. I'm proud to assert that there is no other base in the Air Force with a stronger sense of teamwork and mission partnership! While the "Can Do" 305th Air Mobility Wing is the host wing, we are bolstered immeasurably by partnerships with our Reserve and Guard teammates, the 514th Air Mobility Wing and 108th Air Refueling Wing, as well as the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center, the 21st Expeditionary Mobility Task Force, the 621st Contingency Response Wing and a host of other mission partners, all with equally important missions. It's impressive to see Team McGuire in action across the spectrum of Air Force training, education and mission capabilities -- the "Can Do" wing is proud to be a part of this Air Force "Center of Excellence" in mobility operations! We're also proud to be the lead in standing up the first three-service Joint Base in all of DoD. Together with Col. Dave McNeil,Fort Dix installation commander, and Capt. Bret Gordon, NAES Lakehurst commanding officer, we're building a team that is doing amazing things to support the future management of the Joint Base -- a Joint Base partnership! It's essential that this teamwork pervade all levels as we work through some tough issues. Indeed, we're building the bridge to the future of the Joint Base as we journey on the bridge itself! Speaking of bridges and "bridging," look for ways to bridge partnerships at McGuire. As we enter the summer PCS and transition season, I welcome newcomers to McGuire and encourage members and their families to get involved and build new bridges. Your McGuire tour will be all the more rich with new relationships and experiences. A heartfelt thanks and heaping praise to all of Team McGuire's mission partners! Chief Master Sgt. Scott Kilbride, 305 AMW command chief, and I thank you for your dedication to the team and bridge-building! Can Do -- together!
