"Don't Wait.  Communicate.  Make Your Emergency Plan Today," serves as a reminder that we must take the necessary steps to be prepared not just today but throughout the year.

September is National Preparedness Month.  It is a time to prepare yourself and those in your care for the hazards that may affect our JB MDL community.

You see almost daily in the news that an emergency or disaster has occurred in a community perhaps no different than ours.  Whether naturally occurring, man-made, or technological, these events, if they were to occur here, could threaten the safety of our personnel and jeopardize our ability to accomplish our many joint base missions.

The Office of Emergency Management will host a number of interactive and informative National Preparedness Month events. To help in this effort, there are a few things you can do to fulfill your individual preparedness responsibilities, including, developing emergency and family communications plans, assemble an emergency supply kit for your home and car, and learn how you can stay informed.

We encourage each commander, director, staff agency lead, and supervisor to promote our Community Preparedness Expo and National Preparedness Month campaign by including emergency preparedness information in your staff meetings, commander's calls and similar venues.

Our installation's Office of Emergency Management has a variety of campaign products, briefings and training programs available to support your efforts.  We can tailor any program to your organization's needs...and we deliver!  Please make use of our talents, not just for National Preparedness Month, but year-round.  Our objective is to help you continue to foster a culture of preparedness and resiliency.  By working together we can truly become "Partners in Preparedness" and Win As One!
